Ylva Maia is a Copenhagen-based multidisciplinary artist.

With a background rooted in circus, she graduated from the Academy of Modern Circus in Copenhagen, where she developed a strong technical foundation that now serves as a creative toolbox for her artistic work.

Her practice centers on contortion, alongside aerial disciplines and stilt walking, using extreme flexibility as a sculptural medium. 

Costume design and creation are integral to her work, shaping the atmosphere and visual identity of each performance.

Ylva performs internationally across a diverse range of contexts.
